It’s September, so you know what that means…the dawn of PUMPKIN SPICE EVERYTHING! Although I won’t be indulging in the infamous #PSL from Starbucks, I do intend on getting that fix in other ways.
As the weather gets cooler, what better way to enjoy a nice warm breakfast with seasonal flavours? It’s still super hot and humid here in Toronto but let’s not talk about that 😉
PUMPKIN SPICE OATS
1 cup rolled oats
1 1/2 cups water
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup pumpkin puree (NOT pumpkin pie filling)
1-2 tablespoons maple syrup (depending on desired level of sweetness)
Do I really have to tell you how to make oatmeal? Throw all the ingredients in a saucepan and simmer away until thick and bubbly. Top with pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, and enjoy with your morning cup of tea 🙂
