Matcha Superfood Bliss Balls

Bliss balls, energy balls, whatever you want to call them, have a special place in my heart. Not only because it was the first recipe I ever posted on my blog, but because they’re delicious and SUPER easy to make with just a handful of simple ingredients. Today we’re kicking it up a notch by adding matcha & maca for an extra boost of energy plus a hint of cacao and coconut to bring it all together.

Matcha Superfood Bliss Balls • [makes 10]

9 large medjool dates
1/2 cup raw almonds
1 tablespoon matcha powder
1 teaspoon cacao powder
1 teaspoon maca powder
shredded coconut (optional)

Soak the almonds for at least an hour or overnight if possible. Drain, rinse well, and pat dry.

In a food processor fitted with an S-blade, pulse the almonds until they become crumbly. Next, add the dates (be sure to remove the pits) to to the food processor until a dough forms. Lastly, add all the superfood powders and pulse to mix thoroughly.

Roll into balls using 1 heaping tablespoon of the dough. Wet your hands with a little bit of water to avoid the batter from sticking to your hands. Roll in shredded coconut if you desire, or take it to the next level and roll in cacao or matcha powder!

Refrigerate for up to one week, or freeze up to one month.

That’s it. That’s literally it. You’ll be in and out of the kitchen in 30 minutes or less. Cleaning up the aftermath? That’s a different story. I hate cleaning the food processor, but if that means saving money having a nourishing snack to grab and go all week long, then I guess I don’t mind.
