According to my iPhone, Instagram takes up 45% of my battery usage which is slightly embarrassing but I obviously take this very seriously…
I think Instagram has gotten to the point of no return; it’s like hitting the follow button doesn’t even matter anymore. My feed is saturated with irrelevant ads, posts show up 3 days late, and I often miss the type of content that I look forward to the most.
Lately I’ve found that instead of scrolling and double tapping mindlessly, I actively visit people’s profiles to see their posts or scroll through the hundreds of icons at the top of my feed just to see their story — here are the 5 accounts I never want to miss out on:
I stumbled upon Immy’s YouTube channel last year and have been obsessed ever since. Her videos are beautifully made and she makes the transition to a more minimal and zero-waste lifestyle very approachable. On her channel you’ll find everything from DIY’s, tips to help you reduce your waste, clean vegan eats, and more!
Gosh, where do I even begin?!? To say I have a crush on this human would be an understatement. Yazmin is as authentic as you can get on social media – she shares the good, the bad, and the ugly. She embraces vulnerability and her content reminds me that it’s okay to be exactly who you are; beautiful means whatever the hell you want it to mean.
Genevieve is a certified nutritional practitioner who promotes modern and holistic wellness with a flexible approach. Her blog posts and stories are always so informative and go way beyond the standard definition of health. If you’re looking for healthy lifestyle inspo that’s more than just food, check out her feed and her Bi-Monthly blog series!
“…if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.” If this quote were a person, it would be Nicole. Her candid musings on IG stories about everyday life remind me to appreciate the little things and not to take life too seriously. Her dance party videos just bring a smile to my face. She is a strong voice for female empowerment (@kindisstrong) and is just a sparkly human being. Not to mention, she’s a TALENTED AF PHOTOGRAPHER.
Alexandra is one of the first people I followed when I started an Instagram account because of her nourishing recipes, beautiful food photography, and warm disposition. Watching her and her little family grow has been oh so magical. She continues to be a constant inspiration for me when it comes to building a better relationship with food that isn’t defined by a specific word.
Everyone uses social media for different reasons, and I personally like to use it as a way to connect with others. I hope you found this list of beautiful humans as inspiring as I do. Thanks for reading!
